David H. Dix, as well as the Associates, are committed to establishing close working relationships with clients in an effort to meet their specific Human Resource needs. Our commitment is to assist organizations in taking proactive steps in promoting effective and efficient employee relations throughout their respective companies.

Prior to establishing the Dix Consulting Group, David H. Dix was a Partner with a Maine human resource consulting firm, and in that role was the lead compensation professional for the firm. In addition, he was involved in training, retention, and search projects, serving as project manager on many assignments.
David offers clients over thirty years as a human resource generalist in both private and public sectors. His responsibilities have included compensation, benefit administration, selection, training, and policy/procedure formulation, as well as employee relations. In addition, David has served on a management team to collectively bargain with the Maine State Employees Association.
Immediately prior to becoming a consultant, Mr. Dix held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Mid Coast Health Services, a health care organization in the Bath/Brunswick area. At that organization, he was responsible for successfully assessing and combining the wage and benefit packages of two merged acute care facilities. Further, David was the Director of Human Resources for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
David has been involved with a variety of community activities that include Board Member, Shoreline Community Mental Health, Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Cumberland County, and Kids First.
A Maine native and Portland resident, David holds a BS from the University of Southern Maine and an MPA from the University of Maine at Orono. David served as a part-time faculty member at Westbrook College, providing instruction in the areas of Principles of Management, Human Resource Management and Organizational Development. His involvement in the American Compensation Association Certification Program provides clients with continual updates on current and meaningful compensation practices and trends.
 Patty brings to The Dix Consulting Group in-depth experience in nursing and healthcare recruitment, staffing strategies and employee relations and retention activities. Prior to consulting she has held Nurse Recruiter and HR Generalist positions in large teaching hospitals in New England.
As a graduate of Baystate Medical Center’s School of Nursing in 1986, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master in Nursing Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. While attending school she worked as a hospital based clinical nurse in long term care and hospice for 6 years.
As a staff nurse, her career transition to the field of human resources began with the development of a clinical advancement program, which was followed by her appointment to the position of Nurse Recruiter in the Division of Human Resources in 1992.
Currently, Patty holds a national certification as a Professional in Human Resources from the Society of Human Resource Management. Patty recently became Certified as a Compensation Professional (CCP).
